jen+chris | virginia wedding

a reading from their ceremony.
An excerpt from Captain Corelli's Mandolin by Louis de Bernieres.

Love is a temporary madness,
it erupts like volcanoes and then subsides.
And when it subsides you have to make a decision.
You have to work out whether your roots have so entwined together
that is is inconceivable that you should ever part.
Because this is what love is.

Love is not breathlessness,
it is not excitement,
it is not the promulgation of eternal passion.
That's just vein "in love" which any fool can do.
Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away,
and this is both an art and a fortunate accident.
Those that truly love, have roots that grow towards each other underground,
and when all the pretty blossoms have fallen from their branches,
they find that they are one tree and not two.

so much love to you both. you guys are the real deal.

A huge shout out to:
Megan, from Forage, who killed it on the decor,
A Pimento on the delicious, locally inspired food,
Meriwether Springs Vineyard for hosting this lovely wedding and the easy, breezy vibe,
KC for all the dance music.

And all the incredible family and friends surrounding Jen and Chris that gave endless love
and blessings. This made their wedding go down in my book as an all time fav.

I'd like to second one of the many blessings shared by a guest during their ceremony,
"May your love grow ever stronger as you share your lives together,
and may your future be even more wonderful than you dreamed."

doug+christina | trump vineyards

A few favs from this classic wedding at Trump Winery. Doug and Christinia, you guys are just awesome. Thank you to Kristen Gardner for having me out! Always a blast.

I love light reflections/bursts of color, especially when they're party lights!

garden wedding | mark+elena

I joined my friend, Brianne Bland, to shoot this super sweet wedding at the Strong Mansion in Maryland. Bree has just moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota which is great for Minneapolis but a total bummer for me. I loved working together and hopefully we can still make it happen despite the distance. If you know someone in that area looking for an awesome photographer, you must seek her out. You will love her and her work as much as I, no doubt.

Anyways, back to this killer garden wedding. It was just gorgeous and the light was awesome (slightly overcast with a chance of storms...kind of love this weather prediction).  Enjoy a few of my favorite selects. Thank you to Mark, Elena and Bree for having me!
